The Trip to Nashville - Feb 2009
Trip to Nashville -Feb 2009
I had the privilege of working on my new EP “Child After My Own Heart” with my producer and very talented musician, Phil Baquie, member of the popular Christian group, Sonic Flood. I’ve never worked with a producer before, and it was very humbling for me because I had to LET GO. I had to let go of a particular line in one of my songs which happened to be my favorite line!
But I know it was the best thing for the song! I prayed and asked for another line that night, and it came! All in all, it was a great experience for me to work with a producer who’s on the same page as you are! The EP is awesome. Please check it out, and allow the songs to minister to you.
This last trip to Nashville was a blessing, from beginning to end. Not only did I get to finish up my vocal tracks for the new EP “Child After My Own Heart”, I got to go to the Opreyland Hotel to see the private screening of the movie ‘C Me Dance’ which my song (See Me Dance) amazingly is the title soundtrack for the movie! Sonic Flood just happened to be playing there also that weekend, and I had the pleasure of meeting all the band. Oh, and by the way, some of Sonic Flood played on my new EP. And John Newell did an outstanding job on keys! These guys are so humble, very refreshing. I also got to have dinner with the cast of the movie and meet these “on fire” actors and actresses! I also met some of the other Christian artists whose songs were in the movie. And to top it off, we also got in the Christian Broadcasting Network Convention at the Opreyland Hotel for freeeee! Unbelievable. The whole time, I just felt a sense of God’s grace and favor, knowing that I was smack in the middle of His will. I have since been swamped with concerts, radio interviews, debuts, dinners, etc. My title song of the new EP “Child After My Own Heart” debuted on CSN International Radio, which was a big thing for me. That was totally a God-thing. Actually, it’s ALL a God–thing. The Lord never ceases to amaze me! And it just keeps going!
All I can say is that the Lord keeps moving me forward, as long as I keep taking the steps, and not give up the Calling. He’s brought me this far, I can’t give up now. Despite of all the trials I have gone through, I’m keeping focused and being obedient to His call. Obedience is better than sacrifice. I have to be Peter ON the water, not Peter IN the water. And, ‘hold on tight with all my might’. With all that has happened in such a short amount of time, with the movie and the new EP, etc, is an answer to prayer, a long time coming. Never give up on God, and you’ll never have unanswered prayer.
Yours In Christ,
Terri Shamar
