CHILD AFTER MY OWN HEART - words & music by Terri Shamar

God speaks to you
He's not against you,
You want a second chance
Cut out the noise,
Hear His voice,
The God of your romance

As the sun ascends above the hill
Smiling over you,
Hear Him call, He won't let you fall
He is there to see you through....

(Chorus*)
Beautiful Child, Apple of My eye
I know the plans I have for you
Plans for good, not for fear
Call My name, I will hear...
The child after My own heart........

You're not forgotten, you're not abandoned
He knows your heart is true
To understand Him, you cannot fathom
All the love He has for you, Hey

One day God will dry all your tears
No more pain, no more fear
Hold on tight with all of your might
And believe He holds you dear...... (ch*)

(Bridge)
The trials come, the trials go
Look to the Son and faith will grow!
Hold on tight with all of your might
Believe He holds you dear........

(End chorus)
Beautiful Child, Apple of My eye
I know the plans I have for you
Plans for good, not for fear
Call My name I will hear....

Plans for good, not for fear
Call My name I will hear
The Child after My own heart.....

The Trip to Nashville - Feb 2009

Trip to Nashville -Feb 2009

I had the privilege of working on my new EP “Child After My Own Heart” with my producer and very talented musician, Phil Baquie, member of the popular Christian group, Sonic Flood. I’ve never worked with a producer before, and it was very humbling for me because I had to LET GO. I had to let go of a particular line in one of my songs which happened to be my favorite line!
But I know it was the best thing for the song! I prayed and asked for another line that night, and it came! All in all, it was a great experience for me to work with a producer who’s on the same page as you are! The EP is awesome. Please check it out, and allow the songs to minister to you.

This last trip to Nashville was a blessing, from beginning to end. Not only did I get to finish up my vocal tracks for the new EP “Child After My Own Heart”, I got to go to the Opreyland Hotel to see the private screening of the movie ‘C Me Dance’ which my song (See Me Dance) amazingly is the title soundtrack for the movie! Sonic Flood just happened to be playing there also that weekend, and I had the pleasure of meeting all the band. Oh, and by the way, some of Sonic Flood played on my new EP. And John Newell did an outstanding job on keys! These guys are so humble, very refreshing. I also got to have dinner with the cast of the movie and meet these “on fire” actors and actresses! I also met some of the other Christian artists whose songs were in the movie. And to top it off, we also got in the Christian Broadcasting Network Convention at the Opreyland Hotel for freeeee! Unbelievable. The whole time, I just felt a sense of God’s grace and favor, knowing that I was smack in the middle of His will. I have since been swamped with concerts, radio interviews, debuts, dinners, etc. My title song of the new EP “Child After My Own Heart” debuted on CSN International Radio, which was a big thing for me. That was totally a God-thing. Actually, it’s ALL a God–thing. The Lord never ceases to amaze me! And it just keeps going!

All I can say is that the Lord keeps moving me forward, as long as I keep taking the steps, and not give up the Calling. He’s brought me this far, I can’t give up now. Despite of all the trials I have gone through, I’m keeping focused and being obedient to His call. Obedience is better than sacrifice. I have to be Peter ON the water, not Peter IN the water. And, ‘hold on tight with all my might’. With all that has happened in such a short amount of time, with the movie and the new EP, etc, is an answer to prayer, a long time coming. Never give up on God, and you’ll never have unanswered prayer.

Yours In Christ,
Terri Shamar

"Musician sings healing" Christian Journal March 2009

I want to humbly start off by saying that I am not an eloquent writer, but I will condense this down as much as possible with the Lord’s grace…..

I am a singer, songwriter, musician, and prayer warrior. I was saved in 1983. I have been writing music for many years. My songs have been birthed through much suffering, pain, and fiery trials in my life: rejection, heartache and suffering, persecution, slander, grief, physical pain, and have faced death itself (30 ft.waterfall accident, car accident, etc.), physically dying, unknown to the doctors. I have asked the Lord to either take me out, or heal me. Then the Lord spoke and said, “My grace is sufficient for you”. From that point on, I was totally healed of all physical illness and pain in my body. I have never been sick with even a cold or flu, and it’s been 9 years.

Then the Lord spoke to me and said, “Terri, I know the plans I have for you; plans for good and not for fear.....Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears for there is reward for your work, and hope for your future.” (Jer.31:16-17). “And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself, perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (1Pet.5:10).
He told me He would use my music, not only to overcome my own fears, but to bring healing, and to advance the Kingdom of God.

I want to say as I write this brief article, I write in tears knowing that the Lord has been with me up to this point, despite of my own failures and wrong choices. I say this with great humility, but to encourage all of you who are going through your own various trials. Your work is not in vain. God hears every prayer and knows all. God is looking for the broken and contrite spirit who is dependent on Him alone to carry out His mission. His plans and His call on your life will not be thwarted.

The Lord is using me to show people that He is the God of love and abundant mercy and grace. I have seen people healed by my music. The Lord has also used my music powerfully in Pakistan, praying for the sick, and sent to preach to a small group of 300 Muslim women. They have pleaded for me to come back to them and bring the blessing….

Many times I just want to hide under a rock, because it seems everything has been thrown at me to stop me. But the Lord will not let me give up, because I am not my own. I belong to Him. No, He won’t let me hide my light under a bushel. He has called me to get His word out, to prepare the Bride for the Lord’s coming, having no spot or wrinkle. I believe we are in the final hour. I believe we need to fulfill our ministry, and do it with all our heart, mind, and soul.

In Christ always,
Terri Shamar

Toby Shuster B&B

My husband and I just returned from 2 wonderful weeks in Israel. And we attribute our wonderful stay to the accommodations that we had in Jerusalem. I will be honest with you in that this is our first B&B experience, and that we traveled 1/2 way around the world to do it. We took a chance and didn't know what to expect until we arrived!

Our experience from the moment we arrived at "TOBY SHUSTER'S B&B in JERUSALEM" has been more than wonderful! We walked into a beautifully decorated home full of hospitality in the heart of Jerusalem. The second we walked in we were treated as family and with love. Our privacy was always respected, and Toby went out of the way to make our vacation comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing. And on top of that we received a wealth of information from Toby to help enhance our stay while in Israel.

We were sorry to have to leave because we will miss Toby Shuster very much as she has become part of our family.

FOR ANYONE THAT LOVES ISRAEL AND WOULD LIKE TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT FOR THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY AND IS LOOKING FOR A CLASSY BED & BREAKFAST IN THE HEART OF JERUSALEM, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH "TOBY SHUSTER'S B&B". Only a 10 minute walk to the Old City and downtown area. And the B&B is located in the safest part of Jerusalem, walking anywhere is no problem.

Refiner

The Refiner by Terri Shamar

Awhile back, there was an article that was submitted on a respected friend’s website called “The Silversmith”. I was truly amazed at this article which spoke the very words of a song called, “Refiner” (Malachi 3:3) which I wrote and recorded. I was going through a heavy trial at the time. I have gone through many seasons of trials through my walk with the Lord. I have seen much, done much, experienced much heartache and pain, sorrow, grief, persecution, and even physical pain, and yes, dying. But if it weren’t for the “fire” in my life, I wouldn’t be the woman of God that I am now. God is continually shaping me, molding me, grooming me, and equipping me for the ministry that now lies ahead of me. My trials have not been in vain. Christ is the Author and Finisher of our faith, and He will see us to the very end. Christ is building His character in us, His image. It makes sense knowing that all you’ve been through will somehow be used for the sake of His ministry one day, because God causes all things to work together for the good to those who are called according to His purpose. This has taken 25 years of truly walking with the Lord to “groom” me for what He’s called me to do, and to accept the spiritual giftings placed upon me and my life, and not run from them. You can’t get very far, because God will always find you and bring you back.

There are many of you who are being “groomed” for the ministry as I speak. And many of you may have ignored His voice. But let me encourage you. Know that your “grooming” is not in vain. God is using it to mold you, shape you to what He’s calling you to be so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Allow the Refiner to burn away all the dross in your life. Submit to His calling. God is not finished with you yet. He will bring you to the other side.

Just remember that the Lord is the Refiner sitting by the fire, closely watching every detail of your life. Nothing goes unnoticed. He sees all. Remember that He is in control of the flame. And He will see you to the end.

Yours in Christ,

Terri Shamar

HEALTH VIEWS

This page is dedicated to personal health and spiritual growth. I will provide helpful and informative info on this page to steer us in the right direction. Why do I have such a passion for health? Several years ago I was dying. The doctors misdiagnosed me a few times and failed to cure me. I took different medications for pain and none of them worked. The doctors took out my gallbladder thinking that would do the trick. That didn't work either. I cried out to God for help, to heal me, or take me out and get it over with. The pain was so great. I saw my life flash before my eyes and prepared myself to "leave this world behind". But His still small voice told me His grace was sufficient for me. The Lord in His incredible mercy, healed me of the pain and began showing me more how to take care of my health. God showed me that through diet, cleansing the body, fasting, and by the word of God, that disease can be reversed and healed. I used to be sick all the time with the flu or sore throats. Since my journey to health, I haven't been sick for several years with a cold or a flu. The Lord also spoke to me when the Tsunami hit in Sri Lanka, that disease would creep over to our part of the country. He spoke, " Build up the immune system." The answers are all out there, my friends. God has provided the cure, and all we must do is have faith, patience, discipline, and endurance to win the race.

God bless you on your journey,
A NOTE ON HEALTH AND HEALING

This is a touchy subject, I know. But when I see people I care about suffer, and why they might not get healed, this is my opinion in a nut shell.

The Lord gave us the ability to make wise or unwise choices of what to put in our bodies. You reap what you sow, right? So we can experience health blessings by being obedient to God's dietary laws. Because He did not create white flour, or white sugar, or chocolate with wax in it, or Crispy Crème Donuts. Processed foods are adulterated foods. They are counterfeit foods. Not the real stuff. Man has perverted the real stuff for money's sake - GREED. You can't serve two masters, the God of Love, and the god of money. You can only serve one. And satan is the god of this world.

Processed foods reek havoc on our bodies and cause all kinds of problems: cancer, alzhiemers, diseases, etc. So many people cry out to God to be healed, and yes, sometimes He heals them. But also, the scripture says, "Faith without works is dead." (James 2:17). So therefore we should assume responsibility for our own health if we wish to live as "spiritually and wonderfully made" as the Lord intended us to be. So maybe when it seems as if the Lord is not answering our prayers to be healed, He is waiting for us to be obedient to His plan. In Jer. 10, it says, "Do not learn the way of the nations." It will be harmful to us. If we do it God's way, we will eat "good fruit", we will reap the "blessing". If we go the way of the world, we eat "bad fruit", which I believe is the cursing.

God also made our bodies to heal themselves, didn't He? When we get a cut on our leg it heals in a few days, doesn't it? Some may heal faster than others. Nevertheless, it still heals. When we put the right stuff into our bodies, like whole foods (with the enzymes still in tact), organic and unadulterated, the nutrients are rightly proportioned, and our bodies say " YES!! ", and it can do its job to carry the right proportion of nutrients to where it needs to go. Our bodies start healing and repairing itself from the inside out. Then our immune system is built up so that it can fight off disease. Our body is happy, and we feel better. What we eat also affects our minds. For example, excessive amounts of white sugar causes depression, foggy mind, unclear thinking, inability to focus, and hyperactivity in children, violent behavior, etc. White sugar also feeds cancer. The list goes on and on…….

God does not want us to be ignorant. He does not want us to "perish for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). We must always seek the Lord FIRST in all our ways. The bible says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom….."

Psa 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Like Asa in 2 Chronicles 16:12, did not revere the Lord and His ways. "In the 39th year of his reign, Asa became diseased in His feet----until his disease became very severe; yet in his disease He did not seek the Lord, but relied on the physicians." Please do not misunderstand me. I am not saying we should not go to physicians! Luke in the bible was a physician. And God uses physicians and has given them skills for different things. They have their place. But we should seek the Lord FIRST in ALL things, especially in our disease, amen? And, "if any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally and ungrudgingly…but let him ask in faith, not doubting…." (James 1:5-6).

In conclusion, we can have faith to eat all things, yes. Things in themselves are fine. But it's what man does to it. And in Mark 16:18, " and IF they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not harm them." God does not call us to try such experiments, and we are not to tempt Him. I don't believe in what the "snake handlers" do by tempting God. That is disrespecting His creation. And you should not tempt God by putting yourself in harm's way. You mess with a snake, you may get bit.
